Valeria De Miguel lives in two worlds: one grounded in reality, and the other woven from words. Whether she’s chasing adventure through the pages of a novel or diving into research for her next article, writing is where she feels most at home. Valeria is honored to be part of the Observer team and is always excited to craft stories that inform, inspire, and connect.

Alex Munoz is a dual-enrollment student at Broward College. He is currently working towards finishing an Associate in Arts Degree and a major in psychology. During the week, he can be found playing soccer with his friends or listening to music. He’s looking forward to writing more articles for The Observer.

Social Media Manager: Carmen Cedeno

Carmen Cedeno finds joy in being part of the community and the simple beauty that life brings. Born in Caracas, Venezuela and now navigating a world of knowledge where she enjoys traveling, playing pickleball, and a sunny day at the beach. She brings energy and love to everything she does. As the new Social Media Manager for the Observer, Carmen feels honored to be part of such a talented group of students in Broward College, and can’t wait to help share all the amazing stories that the future holds.

I am currently studying journalism at Broward College. After earning my associate’s degree, I plan to transfer to UCF for my bachelor’s. I hope to write for the New York Times in the future. When I am not writing, I like to spend my time reading and running long distances.

Writing is a form of luxury without the act of being “luxury” it self expression that has no price tag or ending. For me, writing isn’t something I do because I have to, it’s something that I do because I get too.

Hi! My name is Jailyn and I’ve been writing and taking photos for the Observer for just over a year! I’m majoring in technical theater and would like to focus on lighting or stage management. I’m very excited to work with the Observer during my final semester at BC!
