Students gathered on Broward College Central Campus to listen to Christmas music, make slime, and enjoy moments with their friends; all excited to get involved in their college community.

The Winter Bash was a phenomenal event that allowed students to come together and participate in a memorable and enjoyable experience. “The purpose of the winter bash is to promote student engagement through a light-hearted seasonal experience that appeals to all ages. By combining an interactive activity, such as slime creation, with a unique treat like Dippin’ Dots, the event supports the Student Life mission to enhance student well-being and encourage involvement,” said Sabrina Bell, the Coordinator of Student Life events. This event was more than successful, with an estimated 279 students coming to the event.

Students loved that the event created a space for them to hang out with their friends and enjoy festive music. “I am having a lot of fun, I enjoy the music, and I like hanging out with my friends,” said Karen Fung, a college academy student here at BC. Another student enjoyed hanging out with their friends as well. “I like how it’s a place where I can hang out with friends, socialize with others, and meet new people,” said Nicolas Yonamine, a College Academy student. The lively atmosphere turned the event into more than just an activity; it transformed into a gathering spot for connection and celebration.

Many students were also excited to indulge in Dippin’ Dots. I came to this event today because I wanted to get some Dippin’ Dots,” said Noah Kanuty, a nursing major at BC. Another student said, “I love the slime, I am excited for the Dippin’ Dots,” said Juliana Sanchez Cuervo, a nursing major at BC. The sweet treats and playful activities quickly became the highlight of the afternoon, drawing long lines of eager students.

Another detail that made the event a memorable one was that the students were able to create slime. “I came for the slime creation. Making slime is really fun, and I really enjoy it,” said Alesia Urdaneta, a College Academy student at BC. The activities incorporated at every Student Life event truly make campus events interesting and give students the opportunity to unwind and meet new people. “Every Student Life event is different; they have different activities, different food, and different things. It depends on the …” said Junie Aurel, a biology major at BC.

The Winter Bash was the epitome of what Student Life at BC has to offer: activities, tasty treats, and a friendly ambiance where students can socialize. Students loved being part of the wonderful experience, making it an event that will be part of their lives forever.
